Each day comes and I think today I will update my little space here but each day seems to zoom by faster than the last. Why does that happen? I don't want it to be that way. (sigh) There's lots of spring activity going on behind the scenes over here. Yesterday I finally spent a full day in the gardens. Only they were not my own. It was here and it felt absolutely amazing to be digging in the dirt and back at the orchard. Fresh air, sunshine, a rain shower, not one but two slices of homemade rhubarb custard pie (!) and then more sunshine again. Flowers kept coming from the greenhouse as we planted more and more. By the end of the day it looked like we had barely put a dent in the greenhouse. There were so many more flowers just waiting to be planted! I went home with 5 flats of mixed flowers and a gorgeous basket. I felt like I had just won a flower lottery.
Today. It felt like August. Hot and humid. The kind where you just stand outside and the sweat starts happening. So that's what I did. I made notes in my gardening book while the sweat dripped from the end of my nose and down my back. And then I remind myself that it's May 23rd. This won't last forever and I know the plants are loving this weather. A few things are sprouting in the vegetable garden and its slowly making progress. I have more to plant and I have high hopes for that this week. For real. I've got a date with the outside world each night this week.
Right now as I type I can hear the thunder rolling in and the raindrops starting. I love that.
Nothing beats rain and thunder humming you to sleep at night. Don't you think so?

Enjoy the week!
Hope it's sunny and seventy.
