Today was a good day.
We were at the farm/orchard making apple cider. Real apple cider. Not the kind with artificial flavors and colors. This cider is made with apples only. Nothing else. Not too tart and no sugary aftertaste. Seriously the best. I don't have any pictures from all our hard work but I do have 10 gallons in the freezer to enjoy for many months to come. What a deal!
I read somewhere that November is the cloudiest month of the year but the bonus to that are the sunsets. They are most spectacular due to all those scattered clouds on the horizon and I have to say, it has been beautiful. The evening glow in the house casting off the walls and on the ornamental grass (above) is pretty spectacular too. It's the little things you know. Like a dinner using the remaining garden greens and oven roasted veggies. So very good. Speaking of those early evenings, I've been trying to get into the swing of the time change. It's been almost a week and when 7 pm rolls around all I want to do is head for the couch. It's so dark outside and all I can think of is... snooozzzzzzzzze! Such a slug.
Of course maybe that glass of wine with dinner accelerated the sleepy mode. :)
Have a wonderful November weekend! The forecast here is for s n o w. Yikes.
I'm not ready. But then again will I ever be?
